Maria Anna Bietz "Sister Bietz" Beloved mother, Oma (Grandmother), Great Grandmother went to Heaven on July 17, 2012, age 87. She was born Maria Anna Leser on May 12, 1925 in Altshausen, Germany. Maria married Karl H. Bietz after WW2 and immigrated to America 1953 to Petrolia, CA. Karl was sponsored by Johnny Chambers as a Master Shepherd. Early in life as a Catholic she loved God with all her heart. With her marriage she converted to Lutheranism to worship with her husband. Regardless of the church, her lifelong desire was to love and know God. A dramatic event occurred on Sept. 21, 1969 at a Lutheran retreat where both Maria and her husband were convicted of their lack of real love for God. They began reading the Bible and found out about the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and healing. Their passion for God led them to open their home to anyone hungry for God, including, ex-cons, displaced Cubans, street people, and college students. This led to founding the Hebrew Christian Church. Maria and her husband also traveled back to Germany several times to share this "New Life" with family and others. They also went on mission trips to Holland, England, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Yugoslavia, Ghana, and Mosambique.
While raising her children, she was active in their education, especially music. Maria leaves a wonderful legacy of dedication to her family and to God. She truly lived to give. She was a gracious woman, always taking time to serve others. She also supported numerous organizations like Disabled Veterans, Special Olympics, the Trinity Broadcasting Network and the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Her husband went home to be with the Lord in 1982. Mom leaves her children: Henry (Karen) Bietz and children Stephanie Drill, Jason, Matthew, Kim, Marcy and Jessica; Werner (Karen) Bietz and children Nathan, Daniel, and Dylan; Christine Bietz; Elene (Don) Walden and child Brianna; Rose (Jeff) Morris and children Julianna, Sarah, Jesse, Andrew, Rebecca and Aimee. She also leaves numerous great grandchildren.
